Bogota, July 27 (IANS/EFE) Joe Arroyo, a Colombian singer and songwriter who created his own signature style of dance music, died Tuesday in a hospital in the Caribbean coastal city of Barranquilla, his family said. He was 56.
The artist "died peacefully", his wife - Jackelin Ramon - told the press after being with him during his last moments in his room at the La Asuncion clinic where he had been receiving care since June 27.
Pneumonia, a cardiac crisis and poor kidney function had led to his hospitalisation, but his health had progressively deteriorated over the past few weeks, medical authorities said.
The health situation of the creator of "joeson" ("Joe sound") had captured the attention of his fans around the country, among them President Juan Manuel Santos, who had extended his best wishes for quick recovery via Twitter.
"I am lamenting the death of Joe Arroyo, a great loss for music and for Colombia. I send all my solidarity to his family and loved ones," wrote Santos Tuesday on Twitter after he was informed of the artist's death.
The man who managed Arroyo's career for the last 28 years, Luis Ojeda, emphasised the artist's vast output, including "countless songs" that he collected on more than 150 albums.
"There are, some 300 more songs," Ojeda said, adding that Arroyo "was a noble guy, a person of great worth, a great singer, a great composer".

Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment in London today
A press release from the Metropolitan Police, which doesn’t specifically name Winehouse, says:
“Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.
On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.“
Winehouse famously battled addiction to drugs and alcohol and was in and out of rehab several times throughout the years.
Last month, Winehouse canceled her European tour after a performance in Serbia where she seemed completely out of it

The SDCC '11 - a journey to another world! - Last Saturday I went to the San Diego Comic Con. After all, the stuff I read about it in the internet, I had some great expectations. But what happened when I arrived blew me away.
I don't know, if all what happened is referable to the guys that never saw a women like me in real life or the costume I chosen. From my opinion I think maybe both.
My character is actually a little bit out dated, but in the scene still a classic - Jessica Rabbit the super hot sex bomb from the movie "Who framed Roger Rabbit" ( 1988 ), got an unique physique. Like me :-) It took only 3 min., after the first person asked me if he can take a picture of me. At this time I just stumbled out of the car and hadn't done my final preparation.
It took me about one hour, to arrive at the main entrance, because every single step someone ask me to take a picture with him. Wow I felt like a celebrity ... but of some strange reasons everybody called me "Jessica"! hmmm.
Now if you think that only boys asked me for this you are wrong! Almost the half of all persons were mothers with their children. One of them even ask me to hold her baby ( so cute ) to take a picture. It was a super fun day, but very very very exhausting.

Good morning everybody,
I just released my latest set on www.jordancarver.com. Honestly, this was one of my worst shootings ever. After a couple of productions between undergrowth and stones we went to this amazing place in Italy. They build up a brand new trotting course everything seems to be so peaceful, clean and perfect. After setting up everything me and my crew were able to take a few shoots until the unexpected happened. I get attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets. They sting me in my feet twice! That hurt so much, that it was quite impossible to continue the shooting.
Because of that, those pictures turned not to be the best but I wanted to show you them anyway.

Ahh, Capri, Italy.. What a great memory. I found a private little cove, where I could be alone and truly enjoy myself. I crawled on the hard rocks by the ocean, looking for the right pose; it was so sensual for me. The beautiful blue water surrounded me while I basked in the warm summer sun, it was magical! Maybe I should come back again soon, will you come with me?
